Mayme-Royale
Johnson
Senior Interior Designer, Director
Through her flamboyant flair and imaginative theme design, Mayme-Royale Johnson adds refinement and finesse along with fourty-nine years of experience to the design team of Design Theory. Initiating her career in Washington D.C., Mayme-Royale launched "A Touch of Class," her own retail decorative accessory shop and design studio, which was just the tip of the mark she would make on Capitol Hill. Serving as a member on the President's Committee for the Restoration of Capitol Hill under President Carter and a two-year recipient of The National Symphony Orchestra's "Outstanding Design Award" for the Designer Show Houses, are just a few of her exceptional achievements. Based on her established track record she expanded her design services to both a national and international level, building a clientele inclusive of several Fortune 500 companies and film studios, such as: Hughes Aircraft, Northrop, Rockwell, Solar Records, Warner Brother Studios, 20th Century Fox, and Paramount Studios. Her relocation to the West Coast was inevitable, as California became the base of her clientele. The headquarters of the Community Redevelopment Agency of the City of Los Angeles and the Cafeteria and Country Store of C.S.U.L.A. are two of her most celebrated projects. Her design projects have taken her across the globe to France and Italy, as well as to East and West Africa.
